About the show
Spring Awakening is a multi-award winning musical that was labeled a "landmark musical" in its time.

A poignant, coming-of-age, musical, Spring Awakening depicts a group of adolescents, including Wendla, Melchior, and Moritz, navigate the tumultuous waters of puberty and sexual awakening. Wendla is ignorant of the realities of sexuality, while Melchior is a rebellious and intelligent student who understands the world more deeply than his peers. Moritz, on the other hand, is an anxious and troubled young teen who is grappling with their own feelings as they navigate puberty, their sexuality and identity. . As these characters grapple with their burgeoning desires and societal repression, conflicts arise, and tragic consequences unfold.

This show delves into themes of sexual curiosity, societal constraints, and the severe repercussions of inadequate sexual education; among additional mature content. It is a powerful exploration of the challenges faced by young people in a repressive society and serves as a thought-provoking commentary on the importance of education, acceptance, and community. Contact aims to explore the timelessness of this piece as we create our own world of purple summer.

SPRING AWAKENING is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
