The Last Five Years is a show that paints a realistic and heartbreaking portrait of the rise and fall of a relationship told on two different timelines. What Contact aims to explore is how the show is different when you break the heteronormative, historically very white casting of the production. How does the act of queer-ing the show impact the way it is perceived as well as how we approach the work as creatives and performers? Beyond that, we ask the question of why are we so used to seeing both these characters portrayed by white actors? We recognize this is a lot to break down in a 3-part series, but we hope to start this dialogue and start chipping away at these assumptions and challenge your assumptions of how you expect characters to look, act and sound like.

Anton May is a British born, Montreal based performer, an honours graduate from Dawson College’s Professional Theatre Program and an alumni of Black Theatre Workshop’s Artist Mentorship Program.
Daniel Wilkenfeld has been performing in musicals for over 14 years, starting in high school as Don Lockwood in "Singin' in the Rain." Notable roles include: Ted Hinton (Bonnie & Clyde; Contact Theatre), Lord Farquaad (Shrek; WISTA), Charlie Brown (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; WISTA).
Eric Elliot Lee
Eric Elliot Lee is thrilled to be adding his voice to these gorgeous songs as part of this incredible project with Contact Theatre. Recent performing credits include Jeff in “[Title of Show] (Home Theatre Productions, 2019 Mainline Theatre), Pepper in “Mamma Mia” (Nuvo Théâtre Musical 2018), and various ensemble roles in “Six Degrees of Broadway Separation” (Full Circle Productions, 2018 Centaur Theatre). Eric studies classical/contemporary voice with Dr. Irene Feher as a baritone/tenor.
Julia Kennific is currently completing a BFA in Music (Performance Specialization, Classical Voice) at Concordia University. She divides her performance career focus between opera, musical theatre, and her original music with her band, Favourite Daughter.
Kyanna is a 25 year old dreamer who is very passionate about music, theatre, film, and creativity as a whole. She is currently a returning student studying at John Abbott College in the Arts, Literature & Communications program in the Media Profile.
Maria Jimenez is a versatile singer, composer, and pianist from Vancouver, Canada. She is currently finishing a degree in Composition and Jazz Performance: Voice at McGill University. Some past credits: Cabaret (Fraulein Kost/Lulu), Into The Woods (Witch), West Side Story (Anita).
Nicole is a Montreal based Lebanese-Canadian singer, actress & songwriter, freshly graduated from McGill University in Jazz Voice Performance. Notable stage credits: Legally Blonde (Vivian), Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator). New single to be released next month, stay tuned!
Sarah is a gay performer, musical director and vocal coach in Montreal. While recent credits include musical directing The Rocky Horror Show (Mainline Theatre) and assistant musical directing Heathers: Le thriller musical (CoMUM), she is excited to step back into performer-mode with Contact Theatre.
Ally has been involved in theatre both on and off stage her whole life. Prior to founding Contact Theatre, she worked in different positions in the theatre world from Directing to Stage Managing. Producing credits include, The Addams Family (WISTA, 2018), Bonnie & Clyde the musical (Contact, 2019). The Rocky Horror Show (Mainline Theatre, 2019), and Chicago (2020, cancelled due to COVID-19).
Aside from having co-founded Contact Theatre, Debbie recently completed her Masters in Education and works in the Marketing department of the Segal Centre for the Performing Arts. Her most recent projects include: Director-Choreographer for Chicago (Contact, cancelled due to COVID-19) Bonnie and Clyde (Contact), and The Addams Family (WISTA).

Eric Elliot Lee is an up-and-coming Musician and Theatre Practitioner. Primarily a Composer and Music Director, Eric has a deep passion for Musical Theatre, wearing many different hats throughout his career. He is thrilled to add Contact Theatre to the list of companies he's worked with in Montreal
